Labor & Employment Paralegal

A respected California law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support its Labor & Employment practice group. This role provides substantive litigation support throughout all phases of employment-related matters, including wage and hour disputes, PAGA actions, class actions, discovery, trial preparation, and case management. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, technologically savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform wage and hour analyses, including review of timekeeping and payroll records, and assist with damages calculations for PAGA and class action matters.
  • Manage e-discovery processes, including document collection, review, coding, database management, analytics, productions, and email threading.
  • Prepare subpoenas, track service and compliance, and coordinate related follow-up activities.
  • Conduct factual investigations, document searches, and legal research using online research tools and litigation support platforms.
  • Assist attorneys with deposition preparation by organizing exhibits, gathering relevant documents, and preparing case materials.
  • Manage case records and litigation documents, including obtaining transcripts, records, and other materials from third-party sources.
  • Handle all phases of discovery, including reviewing, analyzing, summarizing, and organizing discovery responses and document productions.
  • Prepare for trials, arbitrations, mediations, and other proceedings by coordinating exhibits, trial binders, witness materials, and case files.
  • Provide onsite support during trials and arbitrations, including courtroom logistics and trial presentation assistance.
  • Maintain accurate case databases and support efficient case management throughout the litigation lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

Requires 5+ years of paralegal experience supporting labor and employment litigation, including wage and hour, PAGA, and class action matters. Candidates should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with e-discovery platforms, litigation databases, and legal research tools. Extensive knowledge of discovery processes, trial preparation, document management, and case support is essential. A Paralegal Certificate or equivalent qualifications under California law is preferred.

Compensation

Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications ranging from $95,000-$115,000+ DOE
